IMPORTANT GUIDELINES

Mix the OYA color formula with a whisk prior to application. For virgin applications, apply color to mid-lengths and ends prior to regrowth. When coloring 3 levels darker or more, advanced corrective color techniques such as pre-pigmenting may be required.

When covering medium hair:

Formulate one level lighter.

When covering resistant and/or coarse hair:

– Replace the gray covering series -0(N), -01(A), -04(B) in your mixture
with the -00(N+) series
– If your target shade is -01(A) or -04(B) mix equal parts target shade
with -00(N+) series
– If your target shade is -0(N), replace it with -00(N+) series formulate one level darker
– If no gray covering series are used in the formula, replace up to 50% of your fashion shade with the corresponding -00(N+) shade

Always use OYA Lotion 10 volume!
Because no lift is required when coloring on the same level or darker or 80-100% gray
– 10 volume guarantees long-lasting gray coverage
– 10 volume maintains hair quality and structure

To cover less than 50% gray: 

Mix target color with OYA Lotion 10 volume 1:1

To cover 50% – 80% gray or To cover 80% – 100% gray:

When target series is-0(N), -01(A), -04(B)

Mix target color with OYA Lotion 10 volume 1:1
When target series is:
-5(G), -7(C), -8(R), -87(RC); mix with equal parts -04(B) series
-6(M) mix with equal parts -0(N) series
-9(V) mix with equal parts -01(A) series and OYA Lotion 10 volume 1:1

2 Levels

– Use OYA Lotion 30 volume for mid-lengths and ends
– Use OYA Lotion 20 volume for regrowth

– To cover less than 50% gray:

Mix target color with equal parts OYA Lotion 1:1

To cover 50% – 80% gray:

When target series is -0(N), -01(A), -04(B):

– Mix target color with OYA Lotion 1:1

When target series is -5(G), -7(C), -8(R), -87(RC):

– Mix with equal parts -04(B) series and OYA Lotion 1:1
– 6(M) mix with equal parts -0(N) series and OYA Lotion 1:1
– 9(V) mix with equal parts -01(A) series and OYA Lotion 1:1

3 Levels

– Use OYA Lotion 40 volume for mid-lengths and ends
– Use OYA Lotion 30 volume for regrowth

– To cover less than 50% gray:

When target series is:

-0(N) use -01(A)

-01(A) use -01(A)

& add 1g of blue or violet concentrate per 30g mixture
-04(B) use -0(N)
-5(G) use -04(B)
and mix with OYA Lotion

All other series:
– Mix target color with OYA Lotion 1:1

To cover 50% – 80% gray:

when target series is:

-0(N) use -01(A)
-01(A) use -01(A) & add 1g of blue or
violet concentrate per 30g mixture
-04(B) use -0(N)
and mix with OYA Lotion
1:1

when target series is:
-5(G), -7(C), -8(R), -87(RC);
mix with equal parts -04(B) series
-6(M) mix with equal parts -0(N) series
-9(V) mix with equal parts -01(A)
series

4 Levels or More

OYA Lotion 40 volume is NOT recommended for gray coverage on regrowth

– Use OYA lightening powder to lift 1 level above target level
– Deposit the target shade, using OYA Lotion 10 volume

Note: Processing time on pre‑lightened hair varies.
